Chapter 15

As I wandered through the streets, pondering over the best way to confess my feelings to Rohan, I unexpectedly ran into Anisha, Rohan's obsessive admirer.

"Shivina, can I have a word with you?" Anisha's voice interrupted my thoughts, her tone tinged with curiosity.

"Hmm, yeah!" I responded, following her lead as we stepped aside to talk.

Anisha wasted no time in getting to the point. "Can I know what was your relationship with Rohan? Because I know you guys were putting on an act in front of me!" she accused, her eyes searching for answers.

Her accusation caught me off guard, but I remained composed. "Why do you wanna know that? How do you know that? What was your proof?" I countered, genuinely curious about her motives.

"I'm just curious as I've never seen Rohan with a girl and he's treating you nicely. As for the act, it was just my instinct," Anisha explained, her expression earnest yet probing.

"Every man would treat his queen as his apple of the eye. You don't have to prove that we're acting that day. Then, how come you can ask me like that? Why do you care?" I challenged, defending the authenticity of my relationship with Rohan.

"I love him, okeyyyyyy?!" Anisha declared, her voice tinged with determination.

"Then, why was he shouting at you that day? He clearly showed that he despised you. You were saying that you were his girlfriend and he instantly cut you off and told you that you're not his girlfriend. He denied it. You'd better watch yourself and don't be so desperate for things you can't have. So, don't pester him. This better be the last time we meet," I stated firmly, refusing to entertain any further discussion on the matter as I walked away, leaving Anisha to ponder my words.

"Hey Abhi, what's up?" I greeted my friend as I entered his office, unable to contain the grin spreading across my face.

Abhi looked up, noticing my unusual expression. "You're smiling. That's odd. What happened, Rohan?" he inquired, his curiosity piqued.

"Things are going quite well according to plan," I replied cryptically, trying to contain my excitement.

"Stop beating bushes around and come to the point," Abhi urged, sensing there was more to my mood than I was letting on.

"Today Sharad made his move and Cupcake rejected him so badly. Not only that, she even told him that she loves me until her heart bleeds. I'm so happy!" I exclaimed, unable to contain my joy at Shivina's confession.

Abhi seemed unsurprised by the news. "This was it?! I already know it! Let me tell you some breaking news. Shivina came here just now and told me everything that happened. She is afraid that you won't like her and reject her plus avoid her for a lifetime. But reassured her that won't happen since I know what's on your mind. She was even asking me for ideas to propose to you. But, I said that she should think of a way on her own," he revealed, his tone laced with amusement.

"Really?!!!! I think you should make the move first," Abhi suggested, knowing me well enough to understand my intentions.

"Don't worry, I will!" I assured him, my heart pounding with anticipation.

Just then, Shivina appeared at the doorway, having overheard the tail end of our conversation. "Make what move first?" she asked, a curious smile playing on her lips.

Abhi and I exchanged a glance, our expressions betraying a mix of surprise and amusement. "Oh, uh, nothing important," I replied, attempting to play it cool.

Shivina arched an eyebrow, clearly not buying it. "Uh-huh, sure," she said skeptically, stepping further into the room. "I heard my name mentioned, so spill the beans, boys."

Abhi chuckled, shooting me a knowing look. "Well, you see, Shivina, Rohan here was just telling me about his latest strategy for winning something precious," he teased, nudging me playfully.

I shot Abhi a mock glare before turning my attention back to Shivina. "Yeah, something like that," I admitted with a sheepish grin. "But nothing you need to worry about."

Shivina's curiosity only seemed to grow, and she crossed her arms over her chest, a mischievous glint in her eyes. "Oh? And here I was thinking I might have some competition," she teased, unable to resist poking fun at my expense.

Abhi laughed, enjoying the playful banter between us. "Competition? Nah, you've already got this one in the bag, Shivina," he reassured her, earning a grateful smile from me.

My heart warmed at Shivina's smile, a mixture of affection and curiosity dancing in her eyes as she glanced at me. "Thanks, Abhi," she said sincerely, her gaze shifting back to me. "So, Mr. Mysterious, any secrets you want to share with me?" she teased, a playful glint in her eyes that made my pulse quicken.

I chuckled, reveling in our playful banter as I shook my head in amusement. "Maybe later, Cupcake. Right now, I think we've got some important matters to attend to," I replied, my tone teasing yet laced with genuine warmth.

"Babyyyy!" Ashwini's voice rang out as she back-hugged Abhimanyu, and I couldn't help but let out an exaggerated groan, pretending to be annoyed by their display of affection.

Turning around, Abhimanyu's expression shifted from surprise to sheer delight as he saw Ashwini standing there. "Ashwini! What a wonderful surprise! I thought you weren't coming until next month!" he exclaimed, his happiness evident as he wrapped her in a tight embrace, tears of joy welling up in his eyes.

I smirked at the sight of their emotional reunion, unable to resist teasing them. "Alright, alright, enough with the sentimental stuff. You two are practically melting hearts over here," I jested, trying to lighten the atmosphere.

Breaking away from the hug, Ashwini's eyes sparkled mischievously as she turned to me. "So, Rohan, any plans for tonight?" she asked, her tone playful.

I raised an eyebrow, intrigued by her question. "Why do you ask, Ashwini?" I replied, my curiosity piqued.

With a knowing smile, Ashwini turned back to Abhimanyu. "To meet your future wife, of course! I heard Cupcake is throwing a little get-together for close relatives tonight, so count me in!" she declared, excitement bubbling in her voice.

I grinned, nodding in agreement. "Exactly! And it's at our usual spot. Just make sure you're punctual, Ashwini. We both know how long it takes you to get ready," I teased, earning a playful swat on the arm from her.

"Don't worry, I'll be there. And thanks for the heads up about the food, Rohan. I'll be looking forward to it," she replied, shooting Abhimanyu a wink before turning to leave, her laughter filling the room as she departed.

Intrigued by my cryptic response, Shivina raised an eyebrow, her curiosity piqued. "Oh? And what might those important matters be?" she asked, unable to contain the excitement in her voice.

With a mischievous grin, I reached out to gently take her hand in mine, feeling a surge of electricity pass between us. "Why don't we take a walk and find out?" I suggested, my eyes twinkling with playful intent as I held her gaze.

As her heart raced at my touch, I couldn't help but feel a rush of affection for her. "Sounds like a plan," she agreed, returning my smile with one of her own as we left the room together, leaving Abhi behind with a knowing grin on his face.

As we walked side by side, our fingers intertwined, I couldn't shake the feeling of contentment that washed over me. With each step we took, I became more certain that with Shivina by my side, I could face anything that came our way. As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm glow over our surroundings, our laughter filled the evening air, filling my heart with gratitude for the unexpected journey that had led us to this moment. In the end, I realized, that the most beautiful love stories were the ones that took you completely by surprise.
