"Where is your and Dhivya's thing? I can keep them at Rohan's house so that when you come tomorrow you can arrange them accordingly. You can give them to me now as I'm going to my house and I'll pass by Rohan's house to take some files," Abhi suggested, his voice echoing with helpfulness.
"Ah, perfect! Thank you, Rohan. Here's our luggage," I said, handing over the bags to him. "And don't worry, I'll make sure Divya's teddy bear doesn't cause any trouble," I added with a playful grin.
I quickly left the place and handed over our extra luggage to Abhi to keep at Rohan's house. After a long time, my uncle prepared us a splendid dinner under the moonlight, which was mouthwatering and amazing. It was a dish I would never forget.
"Uncle, the food was amazing. I never knew you were such a good cook; even better than Aunty! Thanks for this treat! Love you so much!" I praised, feeling grateful for the delicious meal.
Everyone was enjoying Uncle's masterpiece. Dhivya was asking for an extra plate, enchanted by Uncle's culinary skills.
After a heavy meal, everyone retired inside for the night, leaving Rohan and me outside. The moon was shining brightly, casting a magical glow around us.
"Stop assuming things, Rohan! Aren't you going too fast?" I teased, nudging him playfully.
"I think she would be a good choice, Rohan. Besides, she only opened herself to you. That means she trusts you. That's why she agreed to stay with you. Plus you both look amazing together. Besides, she's the only way to chase Anisha who's holding on to you like a leech," Abhi chimed in, offering his perspective.
"Well, I don't need a girl to chase away Anisha from my life. I need a girl who's vibrant and innocent like a cupcake!" Rohan declared with a grin.
"Well, good luck finding your cupcake then!"
'I've already had my cupcake in my heart year!' Rohan thought in his mind.
"Okay then, I'm leaving now! Ashwini is waiting for me. Bye, take care of yourself," Abhi bid us farewell before heading home.
As everyone settled into their beds, I lay awake, anticipation building for the new day ahead. The dawn broke crisp and clear, filling my room with golden sunlight. It was time to start anew.
We woke up early the next morning, excited to begin our new life in our new home. Aunt had prepared a scrumptious breakfast for us, and we eagerly dug in before preparing to shift our belongings.
"Rohan, you have guests here!" Aunt announced as she spotted us outside.
I rushed out, surprised by their early arrival.
"Hey, I thought you were moving in next week," I remarked, confusion evident in my voice.
"Well, I thought better late than never," she replied with a grin.
"Okay, one minute. Let me have your graha pravesh first," I insisted, eager to perform the traditional welcome ritual.
It was heartwarming to have their first graha pravesh, and I felt touched by the gesture. As Abhi left to attend to his errands, they settled into my house with a sense of gratitude.
"So, do you like the house? Let me show you your room. I hope it's comfortable for you all. Let me know if you all need anything," I offered, leading them inside.
"Rohan, did you have breakfast and meds?" she asked, concerned about my well-being.
"Well, I didn't have it yet. Sorry though!" I apologized sheepishly.
"No worries, just show me your fridge, and I'll cook something for you," she offered, eager to help.
As she opened my refrigerator, I couldn't help but chuckle at the sight of ice cubes, beers, and wine.
"Rohan, just a curious thing to ask. Why isn't there any veggies or frozen food in your fridge?" she inquired with a smile.
"Well, we boys usually manage with whatever we have. And with the cold, I usually survive on my horrible canteen food. So, I didn't see the need to stock up," I explained with a shrug.
"Ah, a man of simple tastes, I see!" I remarked, teasing him gently. "Well, lucky for you, I'm here to add some culinary excitement to your life!"
Rohan chuckled, a playful glint in his eyes. "I eagerly await the culinary adventure, milady!"
Laughing at his response, I decided to head to the market to buy some essentials. "Come on, Rohan, let's add some color to your fridge," I teased as we left.
As we strolled through the market, I couldn't help but marvel at the vibrant array of produce. "What do you think, Rohan? Should we go for the classic veggies or get a bit adventurous?"
Rohan grinned, pretending to ponder the question. "Hmm, let's spice things up a bit! I'm ready for an adventure in cooking."
Returning home with bags filled with groceries, I set to work in the kitchen, determined to whip up a delicious breakfast for Rohan.
"Rise and shine, sleepyhead! Breakfast is served," I called out cheerfully as I set the table.
Rohan appeared in the kitchen, rubbing the sleep from his eyes. "You're an angel, Shivina. I don't know what I did to deserve such treatment."
I grinned, handing him a plate piled high with food. "Consider it repayment for letting us crash at your place."
As we ate, the conversation flowed effortlessly, punctuated by laughter and playful banter. "How's the food? Do you like it?" I asked, eager for his opinion.
Rohan nodded enthusiastically between bites. "Shivina, you've outdone yourself. This is incredible."
"Thank you for the compliment. So, I was thinking of doing breakfast, lunch, and dinner plus house chores every day since I'm not paying the rental, at least I should do something. And please let me," I explained, feeling grateful for the opportunity to contribute.
Rohan raised an eyebrow, a teasing glint in his eyes. "Are you sure you're not secretly plotting to take over my kitchen?"
I laughed, playfully swatting his arm. "Oh, you caught me! I've always dreamed of being a kitchen tyrant."
After breakfast, I ensured Rohan took his meds before we tackled furnishing our room. "Wow, Rohan, your house is super clean. You know what a boy's room would look like!" Dhivya remarked, impressed.
Rohan grinned sheepishly, scratching the back of his head. "Well, I may have tidied up a bit before you guys arrived."
With Rohan's permission, we dove into giving the house a makeover, adding our personal touches to every corner. "I'm thinking a splash of color here and there will liven up the place," I suggested, eyeing the bare walls.
Rohan nodded in agreement, a smile playing on his lips. "I trust your interior decorating skills, Shivina. Let's make this place feel like home."
With everything going smoothly, we finished the makeover and had our dinner before heading to bed, exhausted yet satisfied. The next day started like any other, bustling with the usual routine. I was in full swing, preparing breakfast and lunch for Rohan, getting Dhivya ready for her new school, and gearing up for another day as a chief surgeon. Little did I know, the day would take an unexpected turn.
I was at home with Dhivya when I received a call from Deepti, my colleague, asking me to come to the hospital immediately. She sounded anxious, and I knew something serious was happening.
"Shivina, a girl has lost a lot of blood. We've contacted all hospitals and nearby resources, and none of them have the same blood type as her. She's hemorrhaging. We have to do something, or we might not be able to save her," Deepti explained urgently when I arrived at the hospital.
I felt a knot form in my stomach as I listened to Deepti's words. Without hesitation, I sprang into action, my mind racing with the urgency of the situation.
As we worked frantically to find a donor, my heart leaped with relief when Abhimanyu arrived. His blood type matched the girl's, offering a glimmer of hope amid the crisis.
"Thank you so much, Abhi! I'll never forget this," I expressed my gratitude as the nurse swiftly followed the procedure to secure the blood.
After obtaining blood from Abhi, we immediately performed the surgery, our hands moving with precision and determination. And when the surgery was finally over, and we saw the girl's steady breathing, a wave of emotion washed over me.
"Thank you, Abhi bhaiya," I murmured gratefully, pulling him into a tight hug.
"It's okay, I'm grateful that I got a chance to save a girl's life. Okay, now I have to go to the office. See you later," Abhi replied humbly before taking his leave.
As Abhi left, I couldn't help but feel overwhelmed by a sense of gratitude. But amidst the relief, there lingered a nagging sense of unease, a feeling that something was amiss.
Sharad, who had witnessed the scene, quickly left the area. After the emergency surgery, during our break time, I saw Sharad waiting for me with tables prepared. I invited my colleagues to join me for lunch to share my gratitude with them.
"Hey Shivina, your friend is so caring. What a handsome and sweet guy--- I wish my would-be to be like him," Deepti remarked, teasing me.
I rolled my eyes playfully. "Oh please, Deepti! Abhi is just a friend, nothing more."
But another colleague chimed in, adding fuel to the teasing. "Shivina, why are you getting angry? We thought he was your... so sorry! By the way, he's good, smart, and fit, and why don't you want a guy like him?"
I sighed, feeling exasperated by their assumptions. "Look, I have many expectations for my husband, and it doesn't mean that I'm gonna choose him. I have a sister to take care of, and I don't have time to think about this for now. I believe God will give me the best husband who I dreamed of. So, I'm gonna leave this to God. And please don't have silly thoughts and also try figuring out my husband's type criteria. Okay?"
As the conversation shifted, I turned to Sharad, feeling the need to address the tension that had been simmering between us.
"Sharad, can I ask you one question? and if you are to answer, please answer me honestly!" I addressed Sharad, needing to clear the air.
"Yes Shivina, you can ask me anything you want," Sharad replied, willing to listen.
"I just wanna know why you are restricting me from being with Rohan. because your actions were way too obvious," I questioned him directly, hoping for some clarity.
Sharad hesitated for a moment before responding cryptically. "Rohan... he's not a good guy, and I'm trying to protect you from him."
I furrowed my brows, confusion swirling in my mind. "But, my uncle assigned him as my guardian, and my uncle never makes wrong choices. Anyway, please just don't do whatever you're doing to me. it pressures me," I pleaded, feeling conflicted about Sharad's motives.
